Custom Tables – Basics
Custom Tables are designed to allow site specific logic and reporting requirements to be added to the generic Product tables.
Custom Tables can be created from SQL statements or based on Views and intergated into the main Product Datamodel. Joins can be be created with existing Tables and the new Custom Table placed into the Folder Table structure.
Please note
If you create a Custom Table while using Client Setup Local Connections then other users who are Remote Connecting to the Central Sharperlight App Server will not see the new Table or Fields. This is because you would be making changes outside of the App Server and therefore it does not know about these changes. To avoid this one should Remote Connect to the App Server and make the changes there so that everyone can see them. If changes are done outside of the Sharperlight App Server Service you will need to restart it so it can pickup the new changes.
The examples show AdventureWorks and also SAP Business One
