Whitelist

Whitelisting connections is a method of authorising trusted locations using an IP address, or a range of IP addresses, or an IP address within a wildcard selection. The whitelist is maintained in Site Setup and only authenticated computer addresses will be accepted. Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses can be included in the whitelist and it can use computer names but this should only be used with local network installations.

To apply a whitelist, open Site Setup and use the right hand mouse click menu in the navigation window. The Whitelist IP Addresses menu will open the whitelist window. If no entries exist in the IP Address or Computer Name entry box, then a whitelist is not in force but adding an entry will enforce the whitelist. The computer hosting the Sharperlight Service is automatically included in the whitelist.
