SharperLight: Query Designer 1: Basics
The design principles used in the Query designer interface are:
- A simple one view display of the entire query from selectable fields, filters and outputs
- Drag and drop, tree view, grid controls and right click functionality are industry standards
- Preview, saving and publication from the interface
This common interface is used across all reporting presentation layers as an user interface to the query engine.
Provides a simple consistent interface when building queries, and does not require that the user write any Transact SQL or coding experience.
